Well, the SI work aligns
the physical structure so that the core can be accessed more readily,
allowing movement that is centered, balanced, and grounded. From
my experience, this is a place where the true nature of yoga can
be felt. Another idea with yoga is about opening up and releasing
the connective tissue from the inside with one’s breath.
SI is similar, in that I ask a client to do the same thing, while
I meet them from the outside. It’s like the helping hand
you always needed in your yoga practice. But the best part of the
SI work for yoga practitioners, is how it changes your practice.
As flexibility increases throughout the body, the process of the
postures becomes more obvious. Poses that once seemed impossible,
suddenly seem realistic.
